Archery is the sport, practice and skill of using a bow to propel arrows. Pupils will be taught some basic techniques to allow them to enjoy the many games and challenges.
Our ever-growing challenge course is the perfect test of an individual’s strategical thinking, balance, endurance, team work and concentration. The course includes a balance beam, up and over, tyre lift and many more testing obstacles.
Orienteering requires navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and unfamiliar terrain whilst moving at speed.
Survival skills are techniques that be may used in order to sustain life in any type of natural environment. These techniques provide basic necessities for human life. The skills also support knowledge and interactions with animals and plants.
If you’ve never been Tubing then you must! “Tubes” are inflatable rings with hard plastic bottoms. Used on the dry ski slope, participants take the tube to the top and then are hurtled downhill, often spinning in a “waltzer style” descent! Great fun, particularly in the rain!
Our indoor bouldering wall is 3 metres high and 9 meters wide. The wall provides opportunity for pupils and adults of all ages to learn and develop the skills and techniques used in climbing. The wall is suitable for all abilities and has been professionally route-set to provide accessibility and challenge at all levels.
As we are lucky enough to have the use of a fully equipped workshop and qualified staff, we offer our visitors a DT experience. Often linked to the outdoors our Design Technology sees visiting pupils planning and making a range of items which include, bird boxes, bug hotels and boxes for bats. Quite often, bird boxes that have been built by pupils are deployed in the grounds of their schools. Some are even fitted with web cams to allow pupils to observe and monitor the hatching of chicks!
